Who is Guy Sebastian

Guy Sebastian was born October 26th in 1981. Guy was the first person to win the first Australian Idol in 2003, which is just like American Idol. Not only has Guy topped charts in Australia, but also overseas in New Zealand, Malaysia, and Singapore. After Australian Idol, he was signed with BMG to start recording.

His first album “Just As I Am” had his first single, which he performed for the final of Idol entitled “Angels Brought Me Here”. This single was one of the biggest selling singles in Australia besides Elton Johns Princess Diana Tribute song. The full album was released in December of 2003 and was a top hit album right away. This album went on to become 6 times platinum. His second single from the album called “All I Need Is You” was yet another chart topper and was a song that Guy had written himself.

Guy released his second album in 2004 entitled “Beautiful Life”. Sine he did not have to think about Idol anymore, he did a bit more R&B feel to this album and did a duet with R&B singer Mya. The first single off the album called “Out with My Baby” reached number one on the Australia charts. He released two more singles from the album called “Kryptonite” which peaked at number 15 on the charts and his third single “Oh Oh” reached number 11 on the charts.

In 2006, he released his third album “Closer To The Sun”. The first single from the album “Taller, Stronger, Better” and it debuted at number 3 on the charts. His second single off the album was “Elevator Love” which peaked at number 11 on the charts.

Guy was appointed Ambassador for World Vision in 2005 where he traveled to Uganda and hosted a TV show called “An Idol In Africa”. This gave him a chance to show the world how the issues of poverty and the civil war affect the people that live in Uganda.

In 2006, Guy was invited to be on the show called “It Takes Two”. Non-musical people are teamed up with singers to perform in this show. The couples are scored by 3 panel judges. Guy teamed up with Australian Olympic swimmer Sarah Ryan. They came in second behind Erika Heynatz and David Hobson.
